A local small Zeeland Company that is a screw machine manufacturer that produces parts for the automotive industry. They engage in high standards to produce consistent and reliable parts for their customers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Operates one or more multiple spindle screw machines equipped with automatic indexing and feeding mechanisms to machine metal bar stock by performing the following duties. This would involve learning to run multiple spindle screw machines and do basic tool changes and they would be responsible for checking parts to make sure they are in spec. These machines are more complicated and require some machine knowledge. Must  have basic machine knowledge/skills. Depending on level of knowledge, pay may increase. Training could take up to two-three months, depending on the person.

Duties:

Reads blueprint or job order for product specifications such as dimensions, tolerances, number of parts to be machined, and tooling instructions such as cutting speeds, feed rates, depth of cuts, and cutting tools to be used

Positions and secures specified collects, bushings, and stock pushers onto stock feeding mechanism and loads bar stock into feeding mechanism

Installs and adjusts specified cams, gears, and stops to control stock and tool movements at each station

Positions and secures tools in tool holders

Sets cutting speeds and feed rates

Moves controls to cycle machine through settings, stopping machine and adjusting tool positions and machine controls to allow for operating factors such as timing, clearance between moving parts, and chip removal

Starts machine, observes operation, and inspects first run and sample work piece to ensure machining conforms to specifications

Replaces worn tools

Operates bench grinder to sharpen tools

Job Requirements

 

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months" related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
 
Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.  Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
 
Must be able to read and speak fluent English
 
The employee is frequently required to sit; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 35 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.

 Must have basic machine knowledge and be able to work independantly. 

Must also be willing to cross train and be self motivated. 
Must be able to work independantly.
Must pass a drug screen and background check. 
Resume and Interview needed.
Train on 1st shift 7-3:15 at least for 1 month then will move to 2nd shift 3-11:15pm.
