Our client on the north side of Holland is offering a Lead position. This is a climate-controlled environment offering a great culture and growth opportunities.
Responsibilities
This is a hands-on role, the Lead will work alongside the team directing the activities, troubleshooting assembly, managing the customer orders, assembly, production and quality to completion, each order at a time, per design.
Experience in the use of hand and power tools is preferred.
Experience in a fast-paced, team environment preferred.
Lead, direct, and facilitate the activities of the line leaders/assemblers in multiple work cells to maximize value added labor and efficiency and eliminate the need for any non-value-added activity outside of the work cell
Interface with quality assurance, production engineering, design, customer service, safety and other operational areas to immediately address any issues or areas for improvement
Support the Material Handling work cell assembly group by developing and implementing 1st piece build and assembly processes to ensure safe and effective realization of Material Handling orders
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following

Develop and apply a full understanding of the ERP Epicor system
Procure all required components, work within, Solid Works and 'Manufacturing Station' to build 1st piece of production run per design requirements. Directly resolve all issues related to design, sales, purchasing, etc. with appropriate individuals. Conduct completed 1st piece review process with representatives from Quality, Design and Production
Comprehend setup and tear down of miscellaneous work cell machines (i.e., sonic welders, heat benders, etc.)
Assist Line Leader in developing work cell inventory component Kanban levels and placement within each work cell
Monitor current production output (setup and run efficiency) and monitor materials for required documentation, defects, and potential environmental hazards and notify appropriate personnel of non-conformances
Stores equipment and returns inventory at the end of schedule production run
Collaborate with line leader to get tools and do initial checks to make sure nothing is missing; bring boxes to Team Leader II - Cell setup to sign; sustain 5S standards throughout the work cell
Address any issues in the work cell related to material shortages, excessive scrap quantities, and notify coordinator of any missing components
Monitor staffing levels within various work cells with special attention to the lean workflow (correct number of assemblers, all assemblers are clocked in properly and to the correct job, etc.)
Lead several line leaders (each with their own work cell) and support any potential issues within those various work cells, including contacting the proper departments as required
Conducts random audits to verify first piece, scrap recording, assembler training/proper use of equipment, effective use of fixtures and/or assembly aids, hourly quantity recording is taking place, etc

Job Requirements
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
