The Material Handler is to ensure that all machines have sufficient materials, components, packaging to support production.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Ensure the correct material is at each press and material is identified
  • Weigh and label all gaylord’s of material prior to returning material to routing aisle
  • Ensure blenders and gravimetric blenders are setup and working correctly
  • Drain and clean dryers, hoppers and blenders as needed per their specific cleaning work instructions
  • Load all material and set dryer per process reference sheet
  • Complete daily checklists and dryer operation sheet
  • Ensure all dryers are full of material, running correctly and dryers are identified
  • Bring out all material, components, packaging required to run the new job
  • Responsible for the removal of all materials, parts, runners, components, and packaging from outgoing job,
verify that nothing from the previous job remains at the workstation prior to the new job is setup
  • At the end of the shift empty all trash containers on the production floor
  • Monitor and empty all scrap bins daily from production floor
  • Organize the cardboard areas
  • Safety conscious
  • Wears appropriate PPE (personal protective equipment) as required
  • Must be able to operate a forklift in accordance with company policy’s and MIOSHA laws
  • Must do daily forklift inspections and complete documentation as needed and follow WMM procedure
  • Follows the company policy and procedures in accordance with the MIOSHA laws, regarding lockout and crane and hoist training
  • Maintain a clean, safe work area by following plant 5s policies
Complete all secondary tasks assigned by Supervisor

Job Requirements


Qualifications and Skills:
  • High School Diploma/GED (preferred)
  • Dependable, regular, and reliable attendance
  • Ability to understand and follow work instructions, both verbal and written
  • Required to have a forklift and lockout license
Physical Requirements:
Mostly standing work in an area that can be hot in temperature related to plastic injection molding facility specifically in summer months.  Continuously lifting and carrying up to 20 pounds. Frequently lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs. Lifting more than 50 lbs. must be performed by using mechanical aids; if mechanical aids are not available, the lift will be performed by two employees in a team lift. Detailed work with hands; fine work and simple grasping. Position requires frequent bending, squatting, climbing, reaching, and kneeling with occasional crawling and twisting. Frequent movement of hands and fingers –typing and/or writing, sit, stand, walk, reach with arms and hands.
