One of our newest clients, who has been in business for 75 years, serving the Furniture, Medical, Educational markets; raw, powder coated, and plated; specializing in OEM Metal Fabrication, has an Maintenance / Controls Technician opening on 1st shift.  

As a Maintenance / Controls Technician you would be responsible to maintain and/or repair process equipment/machines needed to make parts/product, specializing in control systems.  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Learn, adopt and use Lean manufacturing principals and tools
  • Learn, adopt and use all established safety rules
  • Assist in the designing of new tooling and/or problem solve existing tooling, redesigning when necessary, to manufacture quality parts to meet customer expectations
  • Replace die punches for manufacturing
  • Replace robotic weld fixture components
  • Assist in the maintenance of established tooling and equipment part storage systems
  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance
  • Create and recreate electrical prints for use in the manufacturing process
  • Create and/or modify PLC programs as needed for manufacturing success
  • Troubleshoot equipment electrical issues to board level replacement/repair
  • Work with equipment manufacturers technical support groups in order to retrieve needed part numbers or troubleshoot equipment performance or downtime issues
  • Properly integrate electronic safety equipment to code

 
Job Requirements

 

To be successfull in this position, applicants must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and meet the following Qualifications, Education, and Experience.
  • Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.  Good vision, hand-eye coordination is a must.                            
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts as they apply to this technical position.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to perform the essential functions, including sitting down, standing, walking, talking, ability to hear and push/move/lift 25-100 pounds, 
  • Knowledge of PM Software, Spreadsheet/Word Processing software, PLC Programming Software, Vibration analysis software
